Speeches and speeches Arthur Sze, Santa Fe's Poet Laureate, reads.

New Mexico's First Lady, Barbara Richardson, speaks. There were many speeches. People were just so moved by our beautiful library, and each speaker thanked lots of other people for their role in helping it happen. It was just about the warmest and most cheerful 'official' occasion you have ever seen. Even the people who were there to finally check out one particular book or DVD waited happily and patiently until the formalities were over, applauding and smiling. At about this point the camera began to lose power, and couldn't cope with the light from those picture windows. So we don't have photos of them.
