Aurora Hvidsten was born and raised in Santa Fe, leaving to study Literature and Feminist Studies at UC Santa Cruz, and returned in 2009. She has taught preschool at Arts & Sciences since 2010 and directed the Reading is Magic afterschool program from 2016-2019. She received her MS in Early Childhood Education from Erikson Institute in 2015 with a special focus in language acquisition. Aurora has been a library patron as long as she can remember and spent many hours over many years in the upstairs children's room at Main Library. She is honored to serve her community through the Library Advisory Board and feels passionately about supporting the library, librarians and access to library services for all Santa Feans. Aurora loves reading the Elmer and the Dragon trilogy with her child and can’t fall asleep without a solid set of books next to her bed.
