A Storytelling Event with Author Nancy King
The Cracked Pot's Gift (2025)
Stories to Challenge & Comfort
The Cracked Pot’s Gift is an enchanting and soul-stirring collection of folk tales from around the world, paired with Nancy’s personal stories and gentle questions that invite deep reflection. These are stories meant to comfort and to challenge—tales that awaken courage, imagination, and a sense of belonging.
Nancy King is a widely published author and a professor emerita at the University of Delaware, where she has taught theater, drama, playwriting, creative writing, and multidisciplinary studies with an emphasis on world literature. She has published seven previous works of nonfiction and five novels. Her memoir, Breaking the Silence, explores the power of stories in healing from trauma and abuse. Her career has emphasized the use of her own experience in being silenced to encourage students to find their voices and to express their thoughts, feelings, and experiences with authenticity, as a way to add meaning to their lives.
This program has been made possible by the support from Friends of the Santa Fe Public Library.
