Santa Fe Public Library is hosting an AAPI Month Celebration and Film Showcase on Saturday, May 9, 2026 at the Main Library (145 Washington Avenue, Santa Fe, NM 87501).
We are now accepting short film submissions for the upcoming Film Showcase. This event honors Asian and Pacific Islander storytelling and highlights the creativity and voices of AAPI filmmakers living in New Mexico.
Who Can Submit
- Filmmakers and directors who identify as Asian or Pacific Islander
- Films that feature predominantly Asian or Pacific Islander themes, with Asian or Pacific Islander actors in lead roles
- Filmmakers must be current residents of, or work in, New Mexico, and should be able to attend the May 9 event in Santa Fe
- Open to youth and adult filmmakers
Film Requirements
- Short films only (no feature-length films)
- Any genre is welcome (narrative, documentary, experimental, animation, etc.)
- Films may be previously screened but must be filmmaker-owned and submission-ready
