Visit the Southside Library to see an exhibit of piñatas made in the traditional manner. Piñatero Francisco Rodríguez, owner of Casa de Piñatas in Albuquerque, learned the craft from his father and continues the tradition of making these celebratory artistic pieces.
You can help finish one of the piñatas by adding a piece to the fringe layer with materials provided. There are also instructions to take home for making your own piñata from recycled materials.
