LENA Start is Coming to Santa Fe Public Library
Talking, singing, and responding to your little one helps build their brain. LENA Start is a free, 10-week online program for parents and caregivers of children ages 0 to 36 months. The program focuses on building strong language skills through everyday conversations.
LENA Start is a research-based program that helps families learn simple, practical ways to increase back-and-forth talk with their child. These strategies can be used during everyday routines, including:
- Mealtimes
- Playtime
- Running errands
- Daily caregiving activities

Advance registration and attendance at one in-person orientation is required.

Session Dates and Schedule
- Program Dates: March 2 through May 11 (10 weeks)
- Time and Day: 6:00 to 7:00 pm, Mondays
- No session during Spring Break: March 30
- Format: Weekly online sessions you can attend from home
In-Person Orientation (Required)
Before online sessions begin, families must attend one in-person orientation. During orientation, participants will:
- Receive program supplies
- Complete required paperwork
- Learn important program details
Dinner is provided, and families will receive free children’s books. Children are welcome to attend, and activities will be available.
