Read the book—or just join the conversation.
Books Behind the Business is a chance to hear real stories, ask questions, and learn from local business owners.
January's discussion features Lauren Tresp
Lauren Tresp is publisher and editor-in-chief at Southwest Contemporary. She has a Master of Arts in Humanities from the University of Chicago, where she studied Medieval and Renaissance Art History, and a Bachelor of Arts in Art History and History from UCLA. She also offers consulting services to artists and arts businesses at laurentresp.com.
Lauren has chosen the book The E-Myth Revisited: Why Most Small Businesses Don't Work and What to Do About It by Michael E. Gerber. The book discusses how entrepreneurs often get caught up in the day-to-day tasks of running their business rather than focusing on the strategic plan for their business.
Books Behind the Business
Books Behind the Business discussion series will bring local entrepreneurs, business owners, and social enterprise leaders together to share the books that shaped their journeys. Each session will feature a guest speaker discussing a book that influenced their leadership, strategy, or innovation, followed by an engaging conversation with attendees.
